The BETAFPV F405 4S Toothpick Brushless Flight Controller V5 is a significant upgrade from the V4 version, offering advanced features that make it perfect for high-performance toothpick drones. Equipped with a powerful ICM42688 gyro and a new ESC chip that supports Bluejay firmware, this flight controller is optimized for bidirectional D-shot and ensures smooth and responsive control during flight.
The BETAFPV F405 4S 20A V5 offers a more rational layout and larger solder pads for easy assembly and minimal risk of solder jumping. It supports 20A continuous current and up to 25A peak current with high-quality MOSFETs, delivering excellent power to motors. The board is designed with integrated Plug & Play ports for HD Digital VTX and external RX, making it easy to set up and reducing the need for extensive soldering.
This V5 version also features a 25.5×25.5mm whoop mounting pattern, ideal for both toothpick drones and cinematic whoops like the Pavo25 and X-Knight 35. With its built-in 5V 3A BEC and current sensor, the flight controller is a reliable choice for serious FPV pilots looking for performance and durability.

Comparison to F405 2-4S 20A V4 FC
We upgraded the F405 2-4S 20A V4 board to V5 by adopting ICM42688 gyro instead of MPU6000 and adding some new features. ICM42688 gyro works great in most cases. Except for the gyro, the V5 board comes with a completely new ESC firmware that supports bidirectional D-shot. The way to connect motors changed and is solderable only on the V5 board. Besides the V5 FC board features high-quality material for stability and durability. The below pictures show the difference between the two flight controllers.
